You do know that muskets and pistols are just different kinds of guns, right?
Also, the earlier guns (muskets) were already invented in the early 15th century while pistols were invented in mid 16th.
Hardly the most modern invention he would have "invented".
@greyhud90 The queen of not-spain was called to test the lightning rod. It is powerful enought to be used as artillery although it is not certain if she is the most powerful user worldwise (She is the best in Majorca but not necessarily the world) or just average . Magic users are rare so they might have limited artillery options.
In the Majorca arc the ships do not have cannon holes although it might just mean they consider cannons dishonorable as they also don't use bows.
@Jeirien She was the only lightning user in that country (thusly the best) but i think other elements are alot more common (still rare thou) so magic artillery should be possible i think
Armor Infantry made trenches and barb wires useless.
Also napalm made trenches straight up deadly as the aerosol gas would spread throughout it due to it being heavier than air and then combustion would light up and melt everything in it.
Agatha is in a pretty strong position, now, though. Balud is very close to the king, and he needs her to handle the paperwork. Hard to see what the failure nobleman from her past could achieve anymore.
now im no expert on trenches and barbed wire, so by all means please enlighten me, its why im typing this after all....
but would not barb wire be useless vs full plate armored knights ?
as for the trenches thats well and good but the trenches main use was to protect against rifles right ?
would they not become useless if the opponent start using arrow volley barrages as they rain down from above ?
@goldenzeal not everyone has full plate armor, and regardless it would get easily tangled around limbs and such. And have you ever seen trenches like that irl? They’re at least 7-8 feet deep. Trying to get down that as an attacking force, especially in full plate, would leave you very open to attack. Additionally, trenches have overhangs and such, for the exact purpose of cover from plunging fire.
@Epicredeemer You don't need everyone to have it though. Just a frontline to remove the wires. It would still bring a full stop to any charge... If magic wasn't a thing
