Huh, the credits page on chapter 53 (the one where God Grandpa is talking about the different Gods) the translator specifically says that Karen is not a lower God as her name is Ren'aishin not Ai no Kami.

I've just checked that credits page, and I'm not sure it's as strict as that. Grampa God even said that the naming scheme is "roughly" like that. Meaning, it's not like she can't call herself Ren'aishin if she feels like it (or maybe the author forgets their own rules on occasion, I wouldn't be surprised).



I was looking for the scene I mentioned in the spoiler, but I came across something better, a direct mention of Karen being a lower goddess with an explanation of what differentiates them from higher gods.
