As much as I hate to say it season 2 is a trainwreck, jus read the manga then watch with a pinch of salt. An if ya so inclined I then went an filled in the gaps with the novel
Thanks! I'm always more inclined to reading so I think I'll go straight with the manga.

The author really must hate China seeing as Yulong is a thinly veiled allegory of it (that applies to the same area in the mirror world later as well)...

To be honest there's also a very thinly veiled allegory of Arab countries later on which is the only country other than Yulong to have slavery as an official thing so maybe it's not just limited to China. If the author was just a super Japanese nationalist then there would be hate for Korea as well but the Korea allegory (Hannock) is actually friendly with Touya and is in the alliance

I've been in these communities for a long time, elfen lied and Keijo are prime examples of the manga getting jacked by anime catching up and/or flopping

The novels, they're way better than the anime or manga
Im Interested. How is the LN? Is the prose targeted towards children? Or is it decent?

Im asking coz some of the official TL's for ages 15/13 n below have very average translation or just childrens prose.

And there is like 15+ vols right? So is it worth it?

yulong destruction arc cut lol
To be fair, I find that frame gear fights are by far one of the weakest parts of the LN, and fight arcs are already overall rather weak to begin with, so I'm honestly not too surprised they skipped over it.

i've read everything that's been translated so far, what would you describe as children's prose? I would say it's worth it simply because the story is building up after the last big arc Phrase war I didn't even know the novels were for specific ages but if you like the manga i would definitely recommend

Seen the announcement before but I'm so behind the news that I didn't even know the anime was already out, let alone completed. But with how the comments are going, and what I've seen of the episodes' synopses in MAL proving how rushed it is (prolly the most rushed I've seen so far), I know I'd better not watch. It's been a lot of chapters since the part S1 ended and S2 just went past it in 12 eps.
I really liked the first season too, though. Hate having to drop anime because it's worse than the manga, though in this case, I haven't even started watching it.
