If he tried that in any inn he would be kicked out for making noise while everyone else was trying to sleep. No more "safe zone".

If he tried that in a town or city he would get robbed, kidnapped and sold into slavery, or just straight up killed while walking around randomly.

If he tried that while traveling any monster would be able to attack and cripple/kill him before he has a chance to defend himself.

Not really, in an inn unless the floor is really creaky you'd barely be able to notice someone walking barefoot, but that's a valid point.
Of course you wouldn't do that in a town, and it's not like you'd be so much asleep that you would not be able to notice something you'd notice sleeping normally.
While traveling its not like it'd be any different while sleeping normally in a tent or something, you'd get attacked either way, he'd probably get attacked more often sleeping still than walking around giving the impression he's awake. If what counts as a step is what we think it is, he could also just step back and forth in place or in a small circle. But then again, valid points otherwise, I just feel he isn't taking as much advantage of this ability as he should.

I am not sure if I remembered correctly but there was one chapter before where somehow it showed that he earned exp even when he was riding a cart/carriage or something (chapter 1). So does this mean (after all this time), the walking criteria really has to involve a displacement/distance so that it can be counted as a 'walk'? I was think he could've walked on a treadmill before but I guess that won't work after all.

Anyway, like I said in another chapter, he should just go with the girls to wherever they will go. It's still walking, he's still going to see new places, he is still going to get exp and learn new things and he can become stronger as he wants to. Dunno why he still wants to go at it alone.

Thanks for translating this. I still don't get it why he hasn't looked for a way or a skill that lets him sleep while walking, imagine how much xp he could get at a regular pace walk on a 8 hour sleep. Given that he needs 250000 xp to level up, and that on average one can walk around 1,900 steps per hour with some endurance, which he has since he doesn't tire out, he can walk 15200 steps per night's sleep, so he would only need 16 and a half night's of sleepwalking to level up, even less than half that if he just strolls during the day, so basically like a week. He needs some better minmaxxing strats.

Well he’d need to be aware of danger if he sleepwalked which wouldn’t really be a good rest/proper sleep. But it’s a✨magic anime✨ so maybe it’d work
