It's "that easy" to treat because it's a bacterial infection with a treatment he already knows about, that can be treated by antibiotics, and he can just magic up the means to mass manufacture them and also use magic to enforce his quarantine. Maybe we'll see a viral infection story arc where he can't wand-wave a vaccine into existence and the hell it's going to cause while he researches a cure.
