His angle of attack would minimize bleeding simply by avoiding known blood vessels.

That is a lifetime of specialized knowledge and experience, augmented by regular perusal of medical journals to pick up on new observations from around the world. He exists there by the whims of the gods. They had somehow decided that his knowledge was necessary to leapfrog the centuries of necessary work to develop both their philosophy of science and body of knowledge, while also getting around the generation of wasted time and effort that occurs when one well placed genius might hold everyone back because he stubbornly cannot believe in microbes.

Stories like this one always bother me because of the possibility that the Japanese expert will concentrate effort on a few matters of immediate importance, while the entire world struggles in a system of ignorance.

An institutional system for both receiving what is essentially divine knowledge while also learning how such knowledge can be acquired by mortals is the real necessary revolution

.....wow I like how Farma just absolutely ignored the execution methods petition. Honestly that might have been best since him making a comment on it would just be the mangaka/author inviting controversy, but still hilarious they moved straight to Farma being proud of his "Father" supporting the Medical Revolution.

It should be noted that capital punishment enjoys a very high rate of approval in Japan, being about 80% I think. Executions are by hanging, and are almost exclusively applied in cases of mass murder, serial killers, and murder with special circumstances of rape or cruelty.

His attitude may be neither unusual nor unexpected.
