Ummmm... isn’t this LITERALLY the time where she should be like, “By getting his input on this thing I’ve been dealing with for years, it gives me both greater insight into your illness as well as a valid reason to work closely with him”? What the fuck is this “Gimmie the same-old-same-old” pep talk?!?!?
Yeah, this feels like this off "feel good" moment that will end terribly

interestingly helping others can sometimes be more help for oneself. Sadly psychologists can't take the role of being helped, but it is important confidence booster and actually improves our understanding of the material we are helping others with when we help.

You know what to do, marry him! And just in time to interrupt that proposal. It might be a business/project proposal, but as long as she gets baited, it's all that matters. :meguusmug:
I hope the nice lady gets checked by Farma at least and then Eleonore still does the work. It's both a nice way to learn and a good practice.
As nice as Eleonore x Farma would be, I prefer Eleonore x Palle. They've been rivals for years and have a "just kiss already" energy whenever they bicker.

For Farma, ngl I don't see anyone who can be an equal(ish) partner. LeRoux is a decent choice (after the queen) but she hasn't gotten enough screen time to establish her character. Most probably this aint romance-related proposal though, because if it is it feels really sudden.

Moreover, it's unethical. She's aware she can't properly diagnose, that means she knows that her treatment is pretty much quackery, even if it seems to have some effect on the surface. Their world also has the notion already, given Bruno's early speech: "if you can't explain what you're doing, it's poison!". She should insist the noblewoman gets the MC's opinion, not doing so is disregarding the patient's well being.

Some truth there, if a doctor have prescribed something for you that have fix you up for YEARS, it is stupid to ditch to another doctor even if he is better or even the best.
No one said anything about ditching yet. It's a second opinion. It might turn out that he doesn;t have a problem with her method. However, both we and Elen know that the MC is vastly better equiped to diagnose this, while she can't make heads or tails out of it by her own admission. Allowing this state of things to continue is unethical by RL standards.

After a quick Google search, am I right to assume whatever translated to proposal only means marriage proposal, and not some other kinds of proposal like business proposals?
regardless of what Lotte thinks she heard its definitely just a business matter

Still even with that response it really doesn't hurt to get a second opinion if it is suggested.

There’s a world of a difference between
“there’s no reason to change medicine that works” and “I literally don’t know what’s wrong with you but a doctor I’d trust with my life might, so you should get a check up.”

Like obviously Elens talking with a brick wall who’s main concern isn’t side effects or mobility issues but she can’t be seen with the “poors” but this honestly one of the worst ways to give Elen a ego boost.

It’s good for Elen the person but bad for Elen the health care worker.

It’s very anti-healing/medicine.
Like anti-vacc levels almost bc that’s one of the excuses they use when they get caught trying to give ppl the black plague.

a second opinion would always be good; but it is also true in tandem that having a doctor you can trust is paramount. you're inviting an expert to view you intimately, your closest circle that would go beyond your own personal views of yourself.
not to mention her lack of confidence isn't unfound; but as brothers, and his personality, it'd make sense that they were able to tactics as equals. their not afraid to peer review each other. I'd imagine he's even more of an oddity trying to apply his own language to the knowledge Farma has shared.
all in all, a good chapter!
