you'd think he'd have thought about selling creams for dry skin, rashes and cuts. Heck h202 and adhesive would be great

Centuries have since passed, yet nothing has changed about society's obsession with beauty to go as far as to risk their lives for it. Make it taking in or out something, or/and getting mental illnesses. It's really sad.
On a lighter note, I was just thinking about how they use bloodletting as a "treatment" before. (If I remember correctly, a lot go to barber shops to have it done.) I'm really in awe for this author!

Intermediate level isekai cliché #23: Dealing with lead poisoning in cosmetics.

They should just fuckin well do what Carl McCoy of Fields of the Nephilim did and throw talc on their faces.

Hmm, it still annoys me a bit that they kinda skip the "investigation" part and went straight to "here's the problem and how to solve it", but eh, it shouldn't surprise me considering it's already been established that way.

Would be cool to see more Isekai stories with experts (protagonist being modern doctor, cook/chef, or even military commander in previous life) and write how they'll react and adapt to both magic and the time period.

At the top of my mind, I imagine gathering the resources (ingredients for doctor and chef, and equipment for commander) would be interesting, and the lack of similar system/hierarchy can cause issues (I think it was Classical Greek Tactics - A Cultural History, that said ancient greeks generally don't train for times of war, making maneuver difficult.) and using the tools that exist back then (baking would probably be harder and taste different without modern oven).
