This is my big fear right now... We know at least one gal is on the way from the cover, but I don't wanna see this fun relaxed series trudge into the old "harem swamp"- Rent becomes a leafy girl, he buys/frees slave(s), somehow bags a princess... Blegh!Rent (two 't's?) looking so content while sitting in the corner and soaking its feet is unnaturally wholesome. I really, REALLY hope he doesn't get some magic "I've been turned into a girl for my master!" nonsense cast on him, because the big guy's so chill.
I don't see why (pay-the-)Rent would turn into a girl, it's not like he's going to be rendered hopelessly useless any time soon and will need an upgrade to stay in the story. As for other tropes, I'd expect them, we've seen the 'detailed' cooking and planting processes and whatnot. Somehow I don't feel like this will be all that different from Isekai Nonbiri Nouka, though I've only watched the anime and read the comments. There was another farmer anime but that one forgot about farming pretty quickly.I just wanna see the MC get better with his big wooden buddy in this fantastical world. The less tropey, the better.

Thanks for the chapter!

Art is a bit on the simple side in this manga. Everything's too neat. The meat looks a bit more rounded, if anything. Can't tell colour in B/W.Is it just me or does the "cooked" meat look exactly the same as when it was freshly put on the "grill"? It just didn't change appearance.
Yeah, he just magicks everything up. Makes it so cheap. The amount of architectural ass-pulls is way-way-way too high!
I don't think the author thought that far. It's like splitting wood: The hard part isn't to get the axe into the wood; it's the actual splitting part, which you can do with a wooden wedge. No matter how supernaturally sharp a knife is, as long as the blade has any width, the solid stone will resist being wedged apart.
There's nothing wrong with that, but to be worthwhile it has to be interesting on its own. Uniqueness is overrated, but quality and a good vision isn't.to me, this is just like the author's all other works: just re-imagining (very) similar other isekai stories according to his version
Uniqueness is overrated
I presume handling the weight of the meat was the tiresome bit there lol.cutting rocks like he's using a lightsaber: "that was easy, like cutting tofu"
skinning a deer with the same knife: "phew, that was challenging"
I agree now that I'm no longer new to anime and manga, but this is also how new blood earns a contract, a resume and, above all, experience. Both authors and artists. The problem content-wise mainly lies with producers and (chief) editors if you ask me, because they seem to want safe rehashed stuff that'll sell in Japan over anything riskier from creators who haven't hit it big.I absolutely disagree.
It's a shame how the overall quality of the WN/LN/manga/anime industry sinks lower and lower with every generic new "release".
Pretty sure most of what you read and think is good is for the vast majority non-unique, and many details that are unique are easily replaceable.I absolutely disagree.

This reminded me of a minor story beat in Boichi's "Origin". In there, a robot has to pay dues, especially for energy use, and is recommended by a coworker to write porn manga. He basically chatgpt's the process, gets a somewhat high ranking alongside some money, but he stops because of diminished returns/oversaturation of that market. It's a shame how the overall quality of the WN/LN/manga/anime industry sinks lower and lower with every generic new "release".
