@Jimbobjoe I was going to point out that he doesn't have arms, so he'd leave behind a ton of broken debris if he moved the main part by coiling around it. ...but then I checked his skills again, and saw "telekinesis."
I guess Takumi was just a lot closer, plus the inventory made it super easy and barely an inconvenience.

ummm, marine snow is like, dead material that floats down to the ocean floor as it decays, and gets small enough that it's no longer buoyant. that's not a great thing to be swimming around in, and catching on your tongue lol

@Tairo - well, appraisal skill shows him not having a name before, and getting a name of Kaizer after. So either he regularly discards names like you suggest, or Takumi is his first friend in this world.
Suddenly, Kaizer sounds very lonely.

@flannan I'd wager that the last person he made a contract that gave him a name passed long ago and with no one knowing him as his name then the name discarded itself, and contract as equal to Kaiser who is a god retainer(and a mighty dragon on top) might be an extreme rarity that only come every centuries or millennia.
As such a name do not exists if the last person who knew it is long gone.

So in the end Takumi could do the same, but appraisal doesn't sounds like anyone could use

Why didn't the water god just get the leviathan to move the pirate ship?
Because the water god is currently missing. The Mermaids learned of Takumi and kids from the water god's retainer/servant that Syl was scolding earlier. Why that retainer/servant didn't ask Kaiser to move the ship for the mermaids, I'd guess was because Kaiser was not likely one who'd bother agreeing to a request like that from only the god's servant. He's a dragon after all.
