I mean there's a lot of problems here. The secret relationship was just a time bomb in the first place and it is doing its job.

It feels like the point of all this is to really illustrate how messy relationships actually are and how important communication and honesty is. Hiromi was crushed by infidelity with his Ex, but still tries to reconcile with her and then learns she only wanted to do that because he's stable and predictable without a wandering eye or lofty ambitions. He's had only a very short time between dumping his Ex and jumping into a relationship with Lili. He's still very much emotionally distraught and looking for comfort and affirmation from a woman to prove to himself that he can be loved for what he is instead of what he isn't.

The answers are obvious to us because we know everything about all that is going on. Just fucking talk to each other. However this is Lili's first relationship and Hiromi is very on alert about anything even remotely suspicious in his partner's behavior. Both of them are scared because of the consequences of being discovered. The need to not let find out adds in restrictions on their ability to communicate and show affection for one another even in their own home which should be a safe environment for such things. Lili probably has the same unrealistic expectations from what dating someone should be like as a lot of people do. Hiromi needs someone to validate him as a man and prove that he is worth being loved. Neither are well equipped to deal with the needs of the other in this environment.

Honestly, this is Sasuga-Kei we're talking about here. NTR with a chance at reconciliation is definitely on the table. If I had to guess the next big plot points they would be:

• Hiromi and Lili hit a breaking point and one of the share-mates either becomes suspicious or outright figures it out (probably Anju).
• Whomever figures it out will take advantage of the situation to get closer to Hiromi and create an even bigger rift between Hiromi and Lili. Nothing too bad will happen at first because he's just "hanging out with friends" like Lili has been.
• Hiromi and Lili will break up. I'm happy to be wrong, but very much doubt I am. They are not good for each other in their current states. Also far too early in the series for people to be happy.
• Lili will be devastated and become despondent and isolate herself, worrying the share-mates but Hiromi will be acting suspicious. Living with someone you used to date is pure hell on earth.
• Lili will start staying away from the house more if not try to move out entirely and this will open her up to advances from other guys.
• Hiromi will be heartbroken and try to promise himself to not have any relationships with any of the other house mates.
• Whichever house mate figured stuff out earlier will make their move and comfort the heartbroken Hiromi.

Wow this got way longer than I anticipated. I'm looking forward to the eventual harem dumpster fire this will become.

2 of the remaining 4 girls have already been making moves on Hiromi. Yukari (the oldest one) knows Tsubasa is into Hiromi (ch. 32 pg 7), and everyone knows Anju (is that the orange hair one) has been making moves. It's possible, instead of just taking advantage, the girls will continue to pursue Hiromi causing Lili to break again when she finds out.

Jumping into a new relationship right after a break up especially with all the baggages that previous one had is never a good idea. Sasuga has shown she can do some pretty good stuff outside of relationship drama so I'm hoping we get a good dose of that after the inevitable upcoming break up here.

Yup the break up is happening soon, probably even the next chapter based on what the Mc said there at the end. He can’t take it anymore , he wants to trust Lilly but he just got out of a super toxic replationship. Lilly herself is green when it comes to relationships and doesn’t understand why the Mc would break up with her. She knows what happened with the ex, everyone in the house does but with her inexperience she can’t put the pieces together.

Personally I’m just glad this arc is coming to an end soon , the Mc was not ready to hop into his next relationship after just breaking up with his ex. Lilly being green was foolish for starting a relationship with the Mc as she doesn’t understand that someone who just went through that needs tike to recover , as some of the other house mates might understand. Plus like others have said it’s too early in the story to have a proper romance with any of the girls. I can see the lad staying single for another 30 chapters before we see him date any of the other house mates.

So I have 3 lines of thought from this entire storyline they've been on, what it is building towards.

1. This is all a false flag approach to make us think that Lili isn't the endgame, that they part ways here for dumb reasons but will reunite as a couple down the line.
   
   
2. This is a lesson to show the damage from his last relationship, that he needs longer to heal(mind you, he's jealous of their friendship, shared interests like he didn't move out a few chapters ago to clap his ex's cheeks then come back immediately). They will be friends but just at points too different to make it work.
   
   
3. This is just turning into a bad writing arc to remove Lili from the running as the early favorite for end girl.

I don't have confidence they work it out in the upcoming chapters since Hiromi continues to doubt her after they've talked about this several times. If they do it feels like the story is getting away from the author. Who wants to see the MC continue to doubt the girl he claims to like despite being reassured by her?
