Well, I didn’t expect any infighting, especially since none of the four girls are in a relationship with Hiromi. If they had started arguing after showing up separately at the Inn, it would have felt like a slap in the face to how close they are.

That’s why things turned mature so quickly once Anju admitted she came to see Hiromi. Even though Lili didn’t tell the truth, Anju’s honesty broke the ice and eased the pressure for the rest of the girls. We already know they all have feelings for him, and seeing it handled in a mature way showed how close they are.

What really stood out was Mine talking to Nonoka in front of everyone. It was a clever way for the writer to bring up what happened between her and Hiromi without forcing a long confession, which might still come later.

It also made the girls face the possibility that Hiromi could move on with his life in Wakayama and might not return to Tokyo. That conversation forced them to have a mature discussion, showing their mutual bond and making the chapter play out pretty smooth.
You're right that it allowed them all to handle it maturely.

I'm just resolved in knowing that my personal wishes that he not return to Tokyo will never be realized and hope to see more drama and fires being set, though I'm cognizant that won't happen, either.

Purely my own petty desire for trash fire storytelling interfering with actually analyzing the chapter being presented.

Gasp! He took off his tie!?! I mean, they did almost sleep together... but that's beside the point, do they think men don't like to take off their ties asap? lol

This man must have nerves of steel to not put ANY distance between them, in fact the dudes already inviting her to hang out after breaking up not too long ago. Feels unrealistic to say the least, specially since he hasn't even gotten fully over it yet.

I think the implication is that men don't leave their ties with a woman they're not known to have some level of relationship with after an evening together in some capacity (even if it's "sharing a taxi home from a wedding party"), to be delivered by said woman on a later date.

why would you bring in a childhood friend/schoolmate who has such good chemistry with the MC and then shoehorn in the "Ex" who literally dumped him for no reason, why does she still get to spend time with him so quick???

seriously last few chapters feels pointless after this.

Not that he isn't a doormat, but he's also more emotionally mature than Lili. It's another part of him being older, wiser, and on a different arc than her. Hiromi already had a doormat arc with his ex, and a messy breakup arc with Lili, so I expect him to do something different this time. Hopefully sit back and process his emotions before acting reckless; the best kind of Nice Guy.

Lili's regret arc is a little crash-out. She's going to go through the stages of grief.

Denial- Why don't we say we never broke up?
Anger- You'd rather be with that woman!
Bargaining- If you won't take me back at least sleep with me! We can be Sefure!
Depression- Boo Hoo I'm gonna sulk
Acceptance- Ah shit I messed that up. Sorry.

Then again, it is Sasuga Kei, so the odds are just as good for talk-no-jutsu as they are for sex-no-jutsu.

It was late for me and I chose "pithy short snark response" over "thoughtfully-analyzed breakdown of characters" so that I could get ready for bed

So I'm glad someone more qualified came along and picked up the slack for me.

I do think Lili will try to sleep with him out of desperation. I hope that Hiromi declines that, given he's been through this song and dance already, and they ultimately have their Closure Talk and put their relationship to bed, understanding they're at too disparate a place in their respective lives to make a healthy relationship work, and that being roommates, maybe friends, is better for both of them.

It does mean that if Lili harbors feelings last this point even if she agrees she gets to watch the others go after him and then get dragged back under by her jealousy which would make for good cyclical drama once he goes back to Tokyo, too.

At this point, Lily should be able to understand Hiromi’s feelings—just like when she disappeared for the whole night with her male friend from her university. At first, I was rooting for her, but after what she did, it made me change my mind.

I hope they ain't. Lili has way too much growing up to do and it shouldn't be on Hiromi to hold her hand through figuring out her shit when he's just at too different a place in his life.
But that’s where character growth comes in. Whether they like it or not the girls know they Hiromi decided to move out of the shade house even before he went back home.

As for Lili, it’s been established that she has little to no sexual or relationship experience so there will definitely be some growth on her part in both of these aspects. I predict that at some point probably soon Hiromi and Lili will have sex and it will cause PROBLEMS. The new character of the childhood crush is not going to just disappear I think, but instead become the sharehouse girls main rival.

If you’ve read Domestic Konajo or Good Ending the authors other two works this will undoubtedly get messy, characters will grow and there’s going to be some steamy steam hooking up. This manga has been pretty tame compared to her other works.

This 100%! This chapter and how maturely Anju addresses the whole situation makes me feel like she is a dark horse, you will come into play more later on. We have yet to see much of the author biggest strength ( well written character growth ) since it’s so early on in the series, but we have a lot of good characters and I have a feeling this is going to be a long story. Fingers crossed.

So the Lili stuff keeps going I see... I can't understand how wishy washy you gotta be to be this all over your ex just a few months after you broke up with them.
