Interestingly, I think this "disaster" is something he will have to adress sooner or later.

His dream isn't something bad, but it pushes lofty ideals onto his relationships. Given that Sasuga Kei is using almost every character in the series to explore how love works (or doesn't work) for different people, I suspect Hiromi's arc will be about coming to terms with the fact that his goal is a pipe dream. Not because having a good marriage and a happy family life is impossible, but because setting it as your expectation from the get-go is putting the cart before the horse.

The question wasn’t whether he was well liked or wanted. It was whether he was someone who could/would be taken care of by their partner.

I’d argue that he wants someone to do that for him more than anyone because he’s never really experienced it. Even as a child he learned his skills from his grandma so he could reduce her burden. I think that’s part of what makes so many people think that Yukari could be good for him.

When you stop approaching this manga as a love-polygon battle, you can see what Sasuga Kei has been aiming at this whole time. This manga has been questioning the essence of living with someone. It's Yukari's demonstration of holding hands. It's in the damn title. I can still admit how awful some of the ways the author goes about it. But like c'mon you guys... how are you so flabbergasted? Get it together!!
