Judging by his attitude, he probably didn't do something to upset her on purpose. So I think the reason she dislikes him is probably a misunderstanding on her part.

"only child"?? Don't you have a sister who's at least in middle school by the time you started working??

This manga always ends at weird places. It's not even particularly cliffhanger-y. It just ends abruptly, in the middle of a scene that hasn't built up yet to seem important.

Thanks for the translation!!

@forgettingforgetting Wouldn't that be an anti-cliffhanger? So what, you're saying you prefer cliffhangers? 😁 And when a scene is too long, I guess it has to be part of 2 chapters

Eunjae you dumdum, he very obviously likes you, a lot. How can you not see that??? Also he's obviously the one who buried the poor cat and gave her the umbrella since he seems to be following her around. Anyway, hope this hostility resolves because it's literally hurting my head

Comments are weird. What part of "blackmail" does everyone not understand? People, come on--he no doubt likes her, but "do what I say or else" is not a misunderstanding on her part!!! It's creepy as fuck, and why would you want someone who does that to have feelings for you?

From a third persons point of view it's obvious that he like her. But if that had to happen to me i would be so on edge the entire time around that person. It's a pretty normal response to be wary. It is frustrating to see. But quite understandable stance on her part.

@OraOraApril19 At that point in the flashbacks their parents have yet to marry so she hasn't gained her younger step sister yet.

Thank you got the release!

@Zmk I agree. The worst part as an onlooker is that he's trying so hard to get along with her but going at it in a completely dumb way. Though I wouldn't know what the smart way is anyways but still both sides thinking are logical.

@Mai_loves_icecream I think the smart way to go would be to promise he won't tell anyone about it and return the letter to her as proof. Then he could ask for her number and try to (naturally) build a friendship from there. It wouldn't be so hard, she was even starting to feel thankful before he said there was a condition lol.

@Purplelibraryguy even though I don't think he'd actually follow through with these threats if she were to refuse, I agree that this is messed up. That's literally how toxic relationships are built. The worst part is that he could even be cut some slack when he was a kid, but he's still doing the same shit as an adult. I hope Eunjae will stop putting up with his BS at some point.

@Leonhart93 I'm saying there's a proper way to close off chapters, and that's what I prefer. It could end with a cliffhanger or a completed scene-- either which I won't mind.

The way this author does it is kinda sloppy. Even when a scene is long, it can still be cut it in two separate chapters, but finish up the first chapter in a place where it makes sense to end it. Not in the middle of when nothing's actually happening.

@mukade I believe what she wrote in the letter means a lot to him. This is all speculation but the mc mentioned how she was so grateful for that boy to help her when she was feeling depressed that she wrote all her feelings in the letter. If we assume the boy who helped her is actually ml then it'd make sense why he'd feel like keeping that letter since it may not be addressed to him but it technically is. But well. This is just justification for his actions but yeah your idea is nice too. It never crossed my mind that he could gain her trust like that.

@Mai_loves_icecream assuming that Eunjae mentioned the cat incident in her letter (it's probably the case, since he keeps saying she confessed to him), it makes sense that he'd keep it, but it makes his approach even dumber. He could've told her she mistook him for Gunwook lol

oooo maybe he isn't that bad? 👀

i've been suspecting that the one who helped her with the cat is actually Moonyoung since we didn't even see his face 👀 if it's actually like this then he could justify his blackmailing bs lmaoo
