I was expecting some death metal concert but with like real magical effect of whatever they saw as salvation.
Like when shit gets serious in the finale and the opening starts playing. Or like in Symphogear they fuel their "magic" (relics) with songs.
Didn't expect such a comedy gold.
Also - going bare-handed against ancient dragon to get his whiskers for your ultimate mandolin. What a madman. I bet that the dragon would give them to him if he explained his TRANSCENDENTAL GOAL OF ULTIMATE MUSIC

This feels like a troll chapter and the next chapter will be a redo and bad stuff will happen again cause this was just too ridiculous. Funny af, but wow.

So, they play Undeath Metal. Also, I really like that the author remembered Gor Gor's carrion eating tendencies.

Ghuleh and Jigolo Har Megiddo are both the names of Ghost songs and the Death Priest is dressed like Papa Emeritus... so it's fairly obvious that this is all just one big Ghost reference. One of the previous chapters was titled "If You Have Ghosts", which is a Rory Erikson song that Ghost did a cover of.

The author is obviously a rock/metal nerd, since there are chapters named after Iron Maiden songs, and characters like Ky, whose full name is Kyuss A. Sevenfold. The shopkeeper is named Riff, which is a reference to guitars, one of the boys from the village of Brethren is named Slash, like the guitarist from Guns and Roses. And those are just the most obvious references.
