Ok. That did not turn out like I thought it would. When someone says they're not interested, believe them and move on. The group pretty much gaslighted her to have her give in. That dude should've just accepted her decision and moved forward as friends and not ask for something as a huge decision and heavy as marriage. They're young though so it's easy to accept the craziness. Thanks for the chapter!!!

Yeah, this wasn't the direction I expected, and I'm a bit disappointed. There could have been some interesting exploration of each other's underlying feelings and I was curious to see how it would resolve when there is a clear difference in expectation of the relationship. I can see the dude has a good heart, but he's too obsessed and really isn't being that considerate of his (ex?) girlfriend's feelings. I think it ended decently well at the very least because she is putting some distance in the relationship before reconsidering.

Reading it through a second time after reading the previous comments, I don't see what the problem is. There is no gaslighting, in fact everyone is acknowledging and supportive of Ricchan's differences. Since Waku understands her, he wants to her to know he loves that side of her that tries despite her being different. Waku making the marriage proposal is his way of making them both happy, by allowing themselves to still be their own person without compromise and still be friends and family. If anything Ricchan is the one being inconsiderate by trying to force the breakup with Waku without considering his feelings.

To me this reads as an aromantic experience. Though that may be just personal. It seems to me that Ricchan isn't personally disinterested in Waku, but rather does experience traditional romantic attraction, and is worried that her inability to feel those feelings is detrimental to Waku.

Ngl the dudes kinda annoying. I’m no girl so idk if girls like this type of thing but he kinda didn’t try to understand her feelings and went for a different route. “Hey i feel like I don’t love you as much as you love me, I feel more like friends than typical lovers that I see around me and I think we should breakup” I’d expect a different response maybe tryna ask if they could have a proper conversation about a serious topic but he just kept pushing it with an obsessive response “yea let’s be friends and get married!” She’s feels insecure about her feelings towards him and he just dumps this onto her like it’s nothing. But whatever who cares this some manga

Ok, I don't see what some of you are saying. How is she being gaslighted? She is literally breaking up with him cuz she can't feel the same love he feels for her and that he deserves someone that can actually answer those feelings. He then goes on to give his piece on how he understands that "inability" of hers and accepts it all the same and views her as an irreplaceable part of his life. Meguro then chimes in to say that her friend shouldn't worry bout achieving a relationship or happiness like everyone else but one she is comfortable with. They both made their arguments and she was convinced by it, she won't date him but she won't run away and will try to understand herself and her feelings towards Ricchan, where's the gaslighting in that?

Anyone confused about what's happening. Ricchan doesn't understand or feel love. Its not the she doesn't like the guy, but she doesn't feel love. She wants to break up because she thinks this is hurting him and he can find someone to love him back the same way he loves her. He is already happy just being with her. To the point he's okay just sidelining as a friend and getting cucked? So they're going to take a break and figure out what they both want. Basically if they don't find someone else before high school ends they'll marry each other?

Its fucking stupid, and just about the worst writing this manga has ever done.

I mean he is a happy-go-lucky idiot that pushes through life head first. His annoying antics aside, he never did try to get back together with her, in his own stupid way just wanted to still be a part of her life and someone she can be herself around. Is it still dumb, yea, but the message gets across well enough.

Pretty much this. I wouldn't go as far as to call it the worst, everything works well enough and makes enough sense. Is it still dumb? Yes, but the kind of dumb you'd expect from teenagers. Plus, if we ever come back to this, it does have the opportunity for some character development.

The whole thing is stupid as fuck.
"Oh, yeah, I really enjoy being with this guy and I care about him, but I don't get what the love is supposed to be. Don't mind dating him, but I guess I should dump him so that he would find someone who gets it instead, even if he's perfectly happy with me."
Just at least talk about the issue first, instead of one-sidedly deciding on this shit and more importantly stop assuming that there is only one correct way to love someone to be with them like that.
It's pretty much a very similar problem that I have with the other work of this author: "Osananajimi no Ohimesama".
