Well, I suppose all is well if it ends well. I mean it could have gone way worse.
And mind you, I understood what went on, I think a lot of you are missing the point, it's not badly written, it's just that these characters have infuriating personalities, but that's just how some people are, people are messy, you have to be able to see the writing of characters that are messy is not the same as having a messy writing.

That was sad and painful to read, and I'm not even talking about their breakup, god in heaven, characters like this kid are the most ridiculous thing anyone can think of to do.

and remember fellas, if you go through the end of an relationship, please don't humiliate yourself

I still have the hardest time understanding people that don't experience love. I think they have great misunderstanding about what it is due to troves of depictions of it in media. So if they don't feel all the grandiose and exaggerrated descriptions they had, the butterflies, the complete infatuation making you stupid, they conclude that they can't love.

Here, it's very simple: Fuji only loves that guy as a friend, she has no romantic feelings for him. Since she's young, it's hard to say if she's truly aromantic or if she simply hasn't met anyone able to elicit any romantic feelings.

And when I say I don't understand aromanticism, it's because I have a hard time imagining someone not being happy to find and not looking for connection with someone. So at some point, if you do and seek every component of a romantic relationship, that's the same thing?

I'm... mostly okay with this but then again I just jumped in after a break.

Both of them needed sense talked into them. Part of the issue is that she was comparing her relationship to main couple and thinking "if I don't feel what I think they feel then my relationship is ttash." which isn't really how that works. That's not to say you shouldn't get an outside perspective on your relationship or consider others, but with emotions in general you really just can't be beating yourself up for not feeling what others feel.

On the other hand he is WAAAAY too obsessive and clingy. If someone wants to break up and you really like them about one or two protests are acceptable but after that you're just insulting the other person. Marrying as friends is completely off the table. I'm on board with him always caring about her even if the feeling isn't mutual but he shouldn't be forcing that on her.

I think the resolution is fine (particularly with her taking time to focus on herself and future), but the other guy really really needs to date around. He shouldn't be putting so much emphasis and pining all his happiness on a single relationship and girl. That's not fair to either of them. It's also a weird story beat for a romance Manga where the premise is that love can still be beautiful or is more beautiful when your partner isn't your first romantic love (and I thought it was specifically a comment on virtually every romance manga's main pairing being each other's first dates ever).

From my pov, it's not just "i love him as a friend". All the chapters that showed her character pointed to not being able to feel emotions towards other people. It's called Alexithymia and is a complex and broad condition that may vary on the person who has it. On her she just can't understand how other people relate to each other. Even her friendship sense may be distorted thinking "well, i made a friend and i will just do what i can see a friend does, talk with each other and help ocassionaly", people with that may not even recognize a feeling through facial expersions like a normal person. If you were to see a friend with a sad expersion on his face in most cases you can tell that person is sad, is experiencing paing or other things, people with alexithymia and that kind of issue recognizing those expresions are not able to know you're sad from that. That kind of though "oh, she seems happy" doesn't exist for them

Gaslighted or not, I feel like she's forced herself all this time including her relationship with waku, and waku was just going with the flow since he liked her anyways.

Now that she's decided to finally give up on forcing herself to "fall inlove", she decides to breakup. This may seem unfair to waku, but I'm sorta leaning to the side where it's not. He just went with it after all and has been taking advantage (this may sound bad but no since he's a wholesome idiot) of her forcing herself to be able to love.

So to me, I think it's actually bad that they're forcing cheering (better word here I guess) her to stay. To them, they see her as forcing herself to breakup since it didn't reach her ideals. But to her, she's actually freeing herself from the pressure of falling inlove.

I still don't get why meguro has to see that whole situation though. And I really don't feel anything at all from this and other previous arcs. They really should have ended this when they showed a preview of their adult life. Tho I guess they want this to end once they show/imply they've done the deed.

I don't understand Meguro's lines on p.11. Looks like too much of an english for me. They found whom?

About this little shitstorm in the comments: yeah yeah, when a guy hears "let's break up" he should abide...my ass! Considering Ricchan's unique character, marrying a friend could be a wonderful future for her. So, taking a pause and looking for other potential partners may be the best option for both of them. In the end they'll still marry each other anyway

The whole thing is stupid as fuck.
"Oh, yeah, I really enjoy being with this guy and I care about him, but I don't get what the love is supposed to be. Don't mind dating him, but I guess I should dump him so that he would find someone who gets it instead, even if he's perfectly happy with me."
Just at least talk about the issue first, instead of one-sidedly deciding on this shit and more importantly stop assuming that there is only one correct way to love someone to be with them like that.
It's pretty much a very similar problem that I have with the other work of this author: "Osananajimi no Ohimesama".
I think the manga actually acknowledges on some level (and many of the commenters do not) that Ricchan is potentially overthinking this. I think we saw way too little of this character to conclude that she is aromantic or unable to feel emotions or other fancy crap that has been brought up here in these threads.
Ricchan is insecure because she can't imagine herself having the same relationship with her boyfriend as Meguro currently does. This leads her to conclude that she must not be in love with him. If that conclusion is only based on how Meguro (herself something of an eccentric) behaves, and/or on the "mainstream" way of love that's pouring out of media today, then that conclusion is hasty and kinda silly. But, on the other hand, she's a teenager, and it's not unheard of for teenagers to compare themselves to some sort of ideal.

The great thing about fiction is that we can have strange scenes like that. Of course RL is also full of marriages where either one or both don't love the other. Especially the past was full of such marriages of convenience or necessity, when divorces weren't really a thing either. Nowadays folks can live alone as well, without anyone really considering it overly abnormal. Ricchan seems like the kind of person who would normally live her life as a single, concentrating on her career and hobbies. However, at least she now does have an easy option for a family, should she want to have kids. Realistically Waku shouldn't expect anything, anymore, but since this is fiction, you never know.

The dumbest chapter of the series. Homie, find some pussy elsewhere. Find the one that will reciprocate your feelings. Quit being hung up on this....mess of a human. Respect your own feelings and boundaries. Set up a checklist what they must have for life long partner. Marrying a friend isn't a good thing. They might not feel the same way.

Its fucking stupid, and just about the worst writing this manga has ever done.
This just followed those chapters with the vaguely incestual twins. Everything past Koga balking on sleeping with Meguro in the hotel room has been complete shit because the two of them sleeping together and Meguro having sex as an act of genuine love with a real romantic partner she's found love with was the natural endpoint of the story. It should have ended there and not kept going.
