Am I the only one that thinks that she is not a demon but the dragon they are looking for?

If she was a dragon, there's virtually no way she'd overlook the dragon kid with the very obvious gem on its forehead. Would be a gigantic plot hole. She could've also just said why she was looking for the egg. Rather than murder people, throw a tantrum, abduct children, and so on.
