The only real source we have is the announcement at the end of volume 12 saying that volume 13 is the final one.
Though it’s been confirmed by the author on Twitter and ANN as linked before.
The reason AniList or MAL don’t show it as “finished” is because it hasn’t finished yet, and we don’t know the exact day the last chapter or volume will drop. We only know that the last volume will be released next fall, meaning the manga itself will end around August, depending on the exact chapter count and potential breaks.

Though it’s not stated directly, but based on the character art, the use of the first person pronoun, and most importantly - Konbu’s track record, I’d say the main character is a girl.
But again, it’s not confirmed.
