@SuperOniichan Episodic manga like this one tend to get the short end of the stick regardless (and in fact, often in spite) of chapter length. If there isn't an overarching plot to keep them engaged, groups will often lose interest. That's been my experience, at least.
It's especially galling in the case of Dagashi Kashi, which is supposed to be a nostalgia-driven slice-of-life with a little bit of ecchi yet everyone read it like every other romcom and judged it based on "progress" of the "romantic subplot". And that's how we got super-slow updates and anon spoilering the ending.
