@Nagisuke Oh, you wouldn't believe the BS some couples had to face just trying to be in a real relationship. My Parents actually parallel the Grandparents of the story somewhat.

My mom had live the convenient life of (middle class) luxury in the 70s until her father was pushed out of his Coca-cola management job for not agreeing to bribes. My dad was part of a family that had businesses thoughout the town, but struggled through college due to insufficient financial support leading to days of starvation.

When the topic of getting married came up, my father's side of the family basically suspected of my mom of wanting my dad for his families money. (You can see the irony)
