It isn't, the item in the Great Deku Tree is the Kokiri's Emerald.
I didn't expect time travel to be a part of this series. It seems the Shinra Tree's consciousness knows Sekai is the Brave, so does his consciousness extend beyond time? Or did he send a message to his past self?

I don't think Sekai's gonna be preventing the destruction of the elf village though, he needs Fury in the future. She helped him in figuring a lot of stuff out.

Also, I find it funny the tree is named Shinra. FF7 and Ocarina of Time have a fandom rivalry, so maybe it was intentionally named that? Because the Shinra Tree's dungeon is literally the Great Deku Tree Dungeon. Nina wanting to steal from Shinra reminded me of Yuffie.

I'd argue elves aren't a particularly smart race. They're just knowledgeable and that's just something that happens because of their long lives, so they can accumulate knowledge. But typically elves aren't particularly smarter than humans. Usually the most notable trait is that they're relatively xenophobic and elitist.

And considering multiple story tropes out there, you could also argue that they aren't particularly wise either. A large wealth of accumulated knowledge can help compensate for that. Just like how a character with low strength could compensate for their low strength by accumulating wealth and buying a really powerful sword. They are technically powerful by the end result. But the base of who they are is still fairly weak.
