What's funny is that the Male MC has similar looks to many of the MCs from the various card game manga/anime yet he sucks at his game. We all know where our FMC got her body from looking at her mom. It seems her mom has a history for being so stricted. I have a feeling if this goes on, they'll be the troupe that once she removes her glasses she'll not only have massively curved body, but be super beautiful too.

"ザマス" isn't her name. It's yakuwarigo for rich/elegant women that's a shortening of de gozaimasu.
Jeez, in all my years consuming japanese content I have never encountered that specific way of speaking. Thank you for letting us know

Cute.

But,

reminds me of Junk Land and a lot of Shimimaru's works, funny enough also on this website.

Thanks for the TL.

This is also more refreshing and inspiring to me than most romance manga these days.

Girl with oppressive parent -> instead of cliche of parent accepting that they should change their behavior, the parent stays the same but the girl becomes a transforming hero to relieve stress and ace her studies.
Boy who loves to play card games -> instead of being a bland protagonist who only thinks about what's fun for him, he's actually despairing at his own poverty and inability to care his siblings, and the card game is what's giving him the hope to keep living.

Instead of the "idol" theme being a throwaway, she actually IS an idol for her friend, capturing his heart in a non-romantic sense and filling him with vital energy.

Also, the fact that this card game legitimately has an AR-style tournament just like Yugioh intrigues me.

Can't say I don't love the art too (avatar related). Unironically this would make an awesome serialization if the core themes weren't compromised and the setting was fleshed out more.
