@DhruboZ Syntax is your greatest obstacle IMO, the rest can be solved with a program like Grammarly.

The English in this made my brain actually twist and hurt. The "Mate" part stunned me. If it was not midterms for me, id grab the guys and proof for them.

Seeing as English is not your first language I suggest getting a team and have someone else deal with the management of the team.

Thanks for the effort and the chapter but you should follow some of the advice here. I use a browser extension called Grammarly and it serves me good. When I write something like for example this comment and misspell something it marks it red and gives me a correction as suggestion once I hover with my mouse over the marked word. It also corrects most grammar mistakes. I'm not sure where you could post it but maybe you could post your script online and ask others to point out your mistakes because with this long a chapter I would have needed a pen and paper on hand to write everything down and correct you here. Neither are there any convenient markers like line 15 and so on

Everybody's up in arms about the translation, but I straight up didn't notice. The premise was already so bland and the protagonist was so unlikable that I couldn't think about anything but that. But then the thought occurred to me, this guy is the villain of the story isn't he? Sure, he's presumably the victim of an idiot god, but besides that, he's pretty much the flower bud of a generic villain.

His only desire is for the world (god) to hand him an entire reality to treat as his sandbox forever. He has no noble cause. He has no overarching goal. He has no idea what he wants to do with his power once he has it. He just wants hot women to flock to him and flex his power cock that he doesn't even want to train to earn. What a toolbag.

This guy is literally that kid with the charm power in Moon-led Journey who was designed to be a parody of this character archetype. But the worst part is that you just know that the author also feels exactly the same way as this protagonist unironically.

The translation might be bad but no reason to be so rude to a beginner, everyone has to start somewhere. Personally I’m more interested in the lazy claim that it was gods fault when clearly the idiot mc walked in front of traffic while looking at his phone.

@Supercheese That's why I wrote some that it corrects most of my mistakes and never claimed to be any better than anybody else but still thanks for the correction I guess :D

Just came here to say that yes, the grammar is horrendous. Especially the flow. But, it's his first time and even some of the best tl'ers that I know of literally sucked in the beginning. Even worse then this, to the point it was just barely better than mtl. After keeping at it tho, and with help from the community and others, became a first-rate translator. For instance, Bagleson over @https://bluesilvertranslations.wordpress.com/ was horrible in the first chapters. But later on became one of the best in the community.

If you hate it that much, use your perfect English to edit it for him.

@Akemua I'm not going to say he should quit or anything. But I will point out that it is more than just grammar. There are whole groups of words in this chapter that just don't make any sense and were likely translated wrong.

@GodGinrai That still is ignoring the point of my post. Correct him all you want, as long as his skin isn't thin he'll get better just like the person I pointed out did. My point was that: Instead of getting mad, either correct him with the correct English and wait for him to improve naturally, or edit the chapters for him.

The way people are acting is just going to make the guy lose all enthusiasm for translating and that's less manga for everyone that can't read Japanese.

A lot of people seem to mistake advice for criticism, why the hell would we be shitting on people looking to become translators?

@GodGinrai Look, I'm not arguing. I'm just saying that some people overreacted to this whole escapade. Instead of explaining things and giving helpful criticisms where he actually needed it, they decided to make a comment about how they felt about his translation.

@gaigous Unfortunately, some people do just that. While I agree that most people in this particular comment section did not have that intention, @Rugid's comment was the prime example of shitting on someone who is looking to be a translator. Also, it's not about mistaking "advice" for "criticism". Criticisms are important to learning what is wrong so that you can improve. So it's more about mistaking "criticism" for "cruelty".

@Akemua I've seen much more toxic criticisms on chapters here on MangaDex. And honestly, aside from the few people who just said it was bad with no elaboration, most people tried to give some sort of advice.

@GodGinrai I'm very aware those types exist, you've just described the difference between constructive criticism(advice based on observation) and criticism(shitting on someone for kicks).
