His aptitude to be a Sage apparently was given by the God, but that is all it was.
In reality people with aptitude to be a Sage can be found in that world, so it doesn't qualified as cheat.
Though most Sage never train to use weapon and mainly meditate to master Sage Art like the 4 ability that MC gained in the past 500, his master is the sole Sage strange enough to train how to fight, so to learn under such sage is actually is a miracle.
Edit: His lifespan is something all Sage gained through training, according to webnovel all Sage is somewhat youthful like him and his master in appearance. His master himself in fact should have lived for at least 3000 years.
