When you ignore how every side character forces mc into everything resulting in him literally missing the birth of his own child, just to repeat it again, honestly majority of the cast lacks likeable qualities in my eyes
He has a job to do, and he didn't know his wife was pregnant at the time he left.
What, he should be like Ukyou and overthrow an entire country, then invade a neighboring country with the full intention of committing war crimes and atrocities because of his own mismanagement, then when the army gets nuked blame the foreign minister for the failure and have him killed by the families of the dead soldiers?

It's not really super-speed, and using Light Step and Flash Step to move that much distance would tire Sansui out. As seen, he would need one of the techniques that Suiboku has.
Like, how would that letter even get to Sansui, anyway?
It took 6 months to get to Majan; say a messenger could get there in half the time. When would you be sending a letter? In Brauer's third trimester? Once the baby is born?
Since it seems that Brauer only started showing signs of pregnancy after Sansui left, let's assume his trip and her pregnancy start roughly at the same time. Then when the baby is born, Sansui is just 3 months away from arriving back in the Arcana Kingdom.
Couldn't Suiboku have gone to fetch Sansui back? It seems like everyone's happy anyway, so I guess it doesn't really matter.

It's actually frustrating that MC can't say No like a Man and take charge of the story instead of being passive and we're forced to watch a good chunk of this manga to the other characters idgaf about.
Again, he should be like Ukyou, take charge of his own life and get tens of thousands of people killed?
Or maybe be like Ran, take charge of her own life and ignore the Elders who are telling her that she needs to live in a society, only to get humbled and have to listen to authority?

None of the demands made of Sansui are unreasonable given the context of the duties expected of him, and the rewards that are given to him.

I get why she's not mad at him though, he was on a diplomatic mission to another country.

Maybe, except Suiboku has no idea where Sansui would be. The last time Suiboku had interacted with the outside world was at least 500 years ago. Even if he's flying, it's not like he has a smartphone with Google Maps to tell him what countries he's passing through, or where Sansui is.
It could be done, but it's not a trivial task. And no one wants Suiboku to be moving around like that, because he leaves devastation and death in his wake.
And the responsibility if he ends up destroying a country or two would be on the Arcana Kingdom for asking him to go.

I think it's been about 7 or 8 years now.
It was 5 years from when Sansui first met Dewey and when Dewey started attending the Royal Academy.
Then maybe another year or two with the Domino War, Ran the Berserker, and the Fukei Incident.
And then a year going to the Majan Kingdom and back.

Other readers could correct me if they remember any other specific mentions of time skips.

Actually a realistic depiction of what a doormat MC would miss out in life. You miss literally every priceless moment of your life because you are chasing other peoples wishes like a loyal dog.

I assume one reason to not inform Sansui about Brauer being pregnant is to make sure he focuses on his escort job. Can you imagine how you'd get more and more distracted as the months go by thinking about your pregnant wife getting closer and closer to her delivery date? He can't leave Dewey's side at all because she just naturally accrues enemies.

That's a terrible take, I think, as it makes light of the sacrifices that people IRL make for their duties and responsibilities, like first-responders, active duty military, and diplomatic staff.
Sansui, who didn't know his wife was pregnant at the time, was sent on a high-importance diplomatic mission to a foreign kingdom which is a 6-month one-way trip away from home. You think he should have just quit his job at a whim? Putting aside all of the noble and social obligations, such as his wife is a vassal of House Sopeid and a noble of the Arcana Kingdom (who, you know, put her life on hold to serve), there's the fact that Rain is being treated as a noble member of House Sopeid, going as far as a little sister to the heiress of the House, with all of the advantages and benefits that come with that upbringing.
You're saying he should throw all of that away?
That he's a doormat because he executes his duties and responsibilities with dedication, in return for social backing, support, and recognition? That he should throw away the years of work he's put in to earn the trust of everyone around him, the trust that he can be depended on and counted on NOT to make selfish demands that no one can go against, because he can single-handedly kill an entire nation?

He's not a doormat just because he follows the lawful orders given to him by the people who feed, clothe, educate, socialize, and socially back his daughter, as well as paying his salary and will be giving him a noble title and position.

Or are you saying that Ukyou, the man in charge of the Domino Republic, is a better man than Sansui, because he does what he wants and doesn't "chase other peoples' wishes like a loyal dog", or how Suiboku was in his younger days?
