But the commonality of the girls is that they all punked themselves. Because they acted like boys, competed like boys, and never told Kotaro that they were girls... Kotaro now fundamentally sees and treats them like boys. And because he's so singleminded about beating them, he's probably unable to see them any of them as a girl until after he beat her. But meanwhile, they're too stubborn to lose.

she does tie her hair up, especially when she is serious.
the longer hair will be easier for opponent to grab. there is also the chance of her sight getting blocked during movement.
overall its just better for her to have shorter hair if she is doing sports.
