At least Jin isn't the usual effeminate mahou shoujo male MC hiding behind female warriors, and the story is entertaining so far, so I'll see how it goes from here.

I see what you're talking about--that didn't miss my notice--but that is middling at best. (To be fair, only in that page's second panel does her bust appear to get bigger.) Furthermore, I evaluated it as such because, for all intents and purposes--particularly of those authors, artists, and art directors who enforce the very apparent (by now, if you're paying attention) rules that disfavor busty female characters--they might as well be small.

They are, after all, intended by the author to be small enough to near-completely hide behind her mantlet, which is exactly what happens by the end of that very same page. On any other page (barring the top of the next and in chapter three where, for all of one page, she appears to have large breasts), you don't see them--and if you do, they're as small as I said.

If the female lead Shuna was a sexualized little girl, and the manga was made for the kind of people "lolicon" refers to in its original Japanese, she would be flat or very close to it--no questions, no careless occasional deviations from lolicon standards on the part of the artist, just an unmistakable lack of physical development. This is not the case, and so Shuna has Schrödinger's boobs. Thus, "small".
