Makes sense honestly, if you do a good job, no one would complain. Though appreciate is another matter, people will definitely appreciate a better reading experience, but won't say anything about it. Let's be honest here, when was the last time you complimented every single person who contributed in the making of a movie without generalizing it? Because the credit roll is a long one and realistically, most of the people skip that part...
Another example is that most people will expect you to do a good job, so no one will say anything when you do something perfectly while only pointing out the mistakes you've made. (Reference material: My own asian parents)
In the end, appreciation ends up being an inward feeling that you keep it to yourself most of the time.
