I think her plan was to have some safe spot where if anyone gets called out as a werewolf it would be the fake fortune teller instead of her.
She might have also done it to see who pointed at her fellow werewolf since only they would know that she wasn't the fortune teller.
Nice way to throw her comrade under the bus though.

fake claiming is something wolves used in any mafia game but I believe she wanted the bodyguard to waste their shot on the fake fortune teller and find out the real one by watching everyone's reaction to her comment. Also now, they will be able to kill someone at night.

Possible plans:

1. She wanted the bodyguard to waste his power during the next night time.
2. She wanted the werewolves to survive the vote. Everyone will trust the 3 werewolves with her fake fortune teller confession.
3. Another reason that is yet explained

Good guesses, everyone, but it's actually very simple.

1. She's seeing who can she easily manipulate. Calling out fortune teller as a wolf allows you to see who will vote with you. She can easily kill one of them to support her claims as well.

2. They've already killed off someone who is not voting for them. Having a 6/4 split vote then killing one of the 4, leaving with 3. Killing off one of the 6, who are not wolves, is fine.

3. As long she can control the other 3, the wolves will always have majority. As long as they keep killing off their own members and voting off the stragglers, they can win.

To clarify, 3 wolves (w), 3 followers (f), 3 stragglers (s). Kill 1f tonight = 3w, 2f, 3s to a total of 8. Vote off a straggler = 3w, 2f, 2s = 7 left. Now, they can just kill off a straggler or follower, and it's even 4/5 versus 1/2.
Now, they have to have impeccable social game to keep the followers from straying onto the straggler side. Knowing they have the fortune teller (FT) on their side will prove who to kill off. The FT can easily say, well this straggler is a wolf. Vote them off. They can keep doing this over and over again until they have 3w versus 2 villagers and have majority.

No problem, my dude.

It's simple on paper, but probably will not play out this way. I imagine the guy wolf dying since he is irrational and was exposed by one of the "twins" and will throw a wrench into the MC's plans.

We still do not know the full extent of the bodyguard and the twins. If a twin dies, does this mean the other one can have another twin? What do the twins do exactly other than confirm the status as a villager as well? Can the bodyguard kill one of the wolves at any given time? Who knows.

@jayel I suspect the twins are simply able to identify each other as villagers. The bodyguard is where I think the big wrench will be. There's one key thing that I don't remember them specifying: Does the protected person KNOW that they were protected ahead of time? If so, do they find out who the bodyguard is? Also, I again may be misremembering, but they haven't actually said whether the bodyguard can protect themselves. If they can, they'd have to be voted off, which would be MUCH more difficult.

@jayel The real issue are the twins imo. It's definitely not just the voting power that's an issue. Simply being able to identify each other not only clears them as innocent to each other, but having both of them claim to the rest of the group that they're the twins will make them the most trustworthy people. The twin roles are being underestimated by everyone, it seems, which isn't good as the twins' existence becomes more dangerous as more deaths pile up. If there ever comes a time where two persons claim to be a twin, I can see only two options left for the werewolves: 1.) Declare that both of them are werewolves, as no one's roles are ever revealed in the game, and the two of them could just as easily be claiming such to gain everyone's trust; 2.) Have two other werewolves declare themselves as twins and a battle ensures on who will be voted out. There is a third option, which would be to allow the twins to carry on, but them revealing themselves would most likely be a tactic to take control of the game and turn themselves against the fake werewolf and company. And god forbid if a non-twin decides to trust one of the twins and pretend to be a twin themselves.

Honestly, I didn't think about this around the start, but finding out who the second twin is should be up their priorities alongside finding the real fortune teller. Hell, see how Saeki interacts with anyone if you can. Killing Saeki right off wouldn't be good anyway, unless if she is the fortune teller pretending to be a twin, as ramunegaming pointed out. No, killing Saeki would create confusion as to why the werewolves would target anyone who essentially "cannot" be a bodyguard or a fortune teller. Give enough doubt and maybe they'll suspect the fake fortune teller. And just explaining off that night's kill with, "Oh the werewolves probably thought she was lying," could easily cast suspicion on anyone mentioning that. Finding out the second twin has benefits: 1.) You can kill off the second hidden twin and have basically no one thinking you killed them because they were a twin; 2.) Finding out the second twin means less people to consider as the bodyguard or fortune teller.

On another note, are you perhaps confusing Ise, the male werewolf, with Toudou, the shoplifter that Saeki suspected of being a werewolf?

This plan is stupid if the fortune teller is intelligent. The fortune teller now knows 2 of the werewolves identity because they will know those 2 are lying. He/she will also know they are trying to catch the fortune teller's identity if he/she points at a werewolf so he/she would definitely avoid pointing at a werewolf. I have no fucking idea what was the plan on why that guy lied about his girlfriend.
