That's a twist. I had actually wondered if maybe they had switched places, or would switch places, or if one was faking the other, but dropped the idea because their behaviors seemed too separate and consistent. That's a hell of a double bluff.
@screamdoom It's just you? This chapter made it abundantly clear that the MC was engineered in a lab and research group with the sole intention of creating someone who never loses any game. Why is it shocking that he exists on a level beyond everyone else? For that matter, the lab exposition wasn't even necessary for that. The plot from the very start made it clear that he's been living in the real world playing real, maximum stakes high-table black games for nations and corporations and world leaders, and he's been doing it for at least a decade. Even if he wasn't some kind of lab-engineered super gamer, anyone with that kind of experience would naturally stand head and shoulders over a bunch of punk kids who LARP with VR and think that makes them big fish.
I don't see how him not losing makes the plot seem "forced." There were always good reasons for him not losing.
