@GipoScribantino "Karen's moves were bad because she was overthinking it."
Yeah, and a lot of people in the comments don't seem to understand that. She made several bad calls here, but that's because she was emotionally rattled and trying to compensate by overthinking the situation. Mizuha won by NOT thinking, which seems stupid, but like you, I've played enough PvP games to not only have that used against me, but to have also used it against others. It's a better strategy than some people give it credit for, because it stops people from trying to hard counter you by guessing your gimmick or strategy. It can cause over-thinkers and hard strategists to fumble. Which is what happened here. Sometimes being stupid and skilled is the best way to win. Just turn your brain off and do whatever you want.
People seem to forget that the biggest mistake she made was accepting this fight at all. She had no reason to, besides emotional investment and pride. Mizuha provoked her and insulted her and her relationship with the MC. The correct response would have been to laugh in her face and tell her to go pound sand. Like the MC said last chapter, the trap was agreeing to the match at all. Mizuha's victory was already a foregone conclusion, because Karen would only take the bait in the first place if she was emotionally rattled and upset. By agreeing to the match, she already proved that she was rattled. So Mizuha was already very certain that she could just play around and Karen would overthink herself into a grave.
If characters behave like they have real emotions and hearts, people complain because that's not the "smart" thing to do. If characters only ever do the "smart" or "correct" thing, people complain, because that's boring and dull. Some people just cannot be pleased.
