Higehiro was never actually about Yoshida and Sayu becoming a couple, though. I know the anime makes it seem open-ended, and many people insist they got together. However, in the source material, he ends up with the woman he works with, and she eventually gets over her infatuation with him and starts seeing someone around her age. If Yoshida had actually gotten together with her, it would have been rather gross.I'm really digging this manga. Not only for the early confession (you go girl!) but also for how the evolution of their relationship looks real and wholesome (reminds me of Higehiro in that regard). I mean, scenes like the talk with her dad, saying he's happy with her while holding her hand (admittedly, the rain was too much), really drives the point home. How can she not develop feelings for her step-brother?
