I know what the laws are...I'm just asking what is its secret meaning...

The mc's friend discussed it even though they are not blood-related...

Basically, I'm asking why does he mention it?
They are talking about him scared of becoming something like his mother. An unhinged sociopath.

Is this the law I heard that goes against the "Hikari Genji Plan" stories?

If I remember what I read on... I think it was tv tropes, "Hikari Genji Plan" is when someone grows up with an adopted sibling or child and marries them later in life.
But later there was a law added in Japan that forbids marrying adopted or step relatives just as it would actually blood-related ones.
Isn't this law already abolished because of the population decrease?

I wouldn't know.
...
That would explain the increase in popularity of stepsibling couples, then. I guess before then they were kinda more niche, just like actual incest stories.

Wow, Ryota even with Kousei being quite blatant, you can't see Hinata's feelings? That's just mean. I guess at least Ryota is focused on being a good brother to Akira after the whole mess up he made.

Miyuki pushing them out the door on a date was pretty strange to me. Was she planning on this? She even put make up on Akira.

As someone who has a little sister I'm glad to see the MC rush over to protect her from those punks. Once again I got to ask, do guys really act like that in Japan? Not taking no for an answer and getting all pissy when they are told to back off. Seems to be a trope used a lot in manga.
No, its fiction. You will see people like this everywhere, but usually its adults, not teenagers. Manga tropes are just that. Using manga to try and understand Japanese society is the wrong way of going about it imo.

For some reason, I found the part where Kousei called Ryota an "insensitive bastard" too funny.

I never would've expected his step-mom to be the one pushing them together, in a way that's a little bit too close for comfort.
