So, what--the talent scout has inherited the talent agency, sees it as "her child", but it's at risk of going under so she's trying to rope in and exploit train Akira into being her golden goose in the hopes it saves the company?
And her own dad seems to be tied into the agency in some way (he says "our child" when talking to Ami at the bar...maybe it was already stated he had this connection, but this seems to confirm that, in my mind). And more importantly, he seems to not be against his daughter ...effectively being used to save the Scout's business like this?
I guess Akira has interesting in acting all on her own, but I don't think Ryouta himself has really stopped to ask her "is this really what you want to do?" with her and only said "I talked to the Scout and I think she's right after all". Still feels like it should be thought about much more seriously, given how disruptive it would be to the remainder of her adolescence/school life and whatnot, plus her own desires even outside of this potential career path.
But everything about the Scout, and now Akira's dad, just feels so seedy and underhanded and chock full of ulterior motives, what with how cagey she's being about her actual reasons and her methods of trying to get Akira signed onto her agency. The fact she seems so reluctant to just lay everything out for Akira & Ryouta makes me dislike her intensely, and the lack of real, supportive, protective adults around the two of them is discouraging.
I guess I'm still in this for awhile yet because I'm morbidly curious as to where this goes (though I guess I could go find the novels, assuming they're mostly-accurate to this adaptation), but I can't say I have faith in the direction this seems to be going, diluting the relationship between the two leads with so much weird drama that gets pushed on them one after the other from people who seem so intent on using them both.
