Honestly, you don't need to redraw to remove sfx. Never seen anyone actually bothered by them. Just add a small note to say what they mean in the white space nearby and call it quit there.

Still better than an injured princess face on page 13 that is suddenly no longer injured in nearly every other panels except one later.

i think it's a poorly drawn choke-hold. But yeah out of context I can easily see someone thinking he cuddled them to death due to how poorly the images communicate what is happening.
