@WillTell Full fairness, i'm pretty sure that's actually a manga only issue, because in the novel there's no mention of it. It's probably a consequence of the artist wanting to make the distinction clearer, but not thinking about in-world consequences.

@blake77 Actually Barrier magic is incredibly common, it's just not taken to the intensity and heights that Haruto takes it. Personally I feel like he's under the impression the cheat the Goddess gave him was the capability to use the surrounding mana and that had the consequence of leaving him with no actual mana attribute. It's way more realistic then 'Yeah this goddess went comically overkill and also just straight up forgot shit'

but in the webnovel he had made a magic power measuring device that is capable of displaying three digit values but it still showed his magic power as 002.

It has been shown in the manga, however, it happened many chapters ago. Given that MC has no difficulty playing Lelouch, I mean Hero, and can easily slay overpowered monsters alone, by now it would make sense for him to put two and two together. But that didn't happen, and it doesn't make much sense at this point.

It was like in that other manga, where character saw his own magical power, and did not recognize infinity symbol there, and decided it is "8".
