Holy fuck this chapter reminded me that pagers existed and were considered essential for business before

@goarachnidlaser

A loan is just a bandaid, the shop still needs to do well on it's own. Small stores also have pretty decently large operating costs and property taxes to pay, so is Ninomiya supposed to keep borrowing money from Sayuri until Sayuri's grandfather dies and get family goes broke?

This chapter real hit me with personal problem with my dad, and yes careful of what you're wishing for.

And yes, some rich people is working hard like crazy to become and stay rich, and have a strict rules for their children so they're not becoming a spoiled brat.

I kinda get her point but the situation between her dad is a completely different situation.
Also, good realization she ended up having. Not everyone is a trust-fund baby, and even so, trust-fund babies also have to work so that the small million dollars loan from daddy can become something of worth.

But she got it wrong. Ninomiya didn't work hard when she was a spoiled brat. It was 20 years of living hand to mouth what made her into a hard worker.

Wait, while it's nice that she's working hard to do well for herself, can't she just buy Apple and Google stock with her allowance right now?

I definitely don’t agree with the MC. Shinomia already gave her dad a chance who abused it. That man needs help, sure, but she has done more than enough. His attitude literally hospitalised her mother. It’s unfair to her who has to slave away in life and doesn’t even get to enjoy a good high school life, which she will never get to experience again. The father doesn’t deserve any respect. Alcoholism and depression are a sickness, but they are not an excuse to abuse those around you, definitely not teenagers

Honestly I think Ninomiya didn't have the right to tell Kashimura to forgive her dad. He fucked up hardcore. Lucky for them, the ppl that confronted them didn't outright murder them like other gangs. Kashimuras dad risked his daughter getting killed or worse because you don't fuck around with gangs like that. What Ninomiya went through with her dad is in no way similar to Kashimuras' situation. Her own dad tried. This dad didn't. As someone who has a similar dad like Kashimura, seeing Ninomura reprimand her just infuriated me. Instead she should've said something like checking the dad into rehabilitation. You don't need to cling to family who are toxic and screw anyone who says otherwise.

For a moment, I was afraid the solution was a bailout from the MC's parents. I'm glad they didn't go there (or if they hopefully inadvertently do end up there later, at least they earned the deus ex machina).

Yeah yeah sure sure, let the dad off the hook. But sure as hell never trust him again with money.
