One of these rules isn't even true. There's that stand with a mind of its own in Part 4, right? The one that kills its user and then becomes someone else's stand. So I guess that's two rules.

Cheap Trick and Holly's Stand aren't really completed stands, that's why they kill the user and don't obey them. They don't have enough power to tame them. Which is weird because the architect guy had enough strength to survive being pierced by the arrow, while Koichi didn't. Part 5 spoilers:
SCR and GER are shown to obey an order from the user than directly obeying the user, but when Polnareff pierced himself on the farm he didn't sleep like everything else, because he still had a way to control the stand, unlike when he died.

I don't think it was ever shown a stand being hit by a non stand weapon, but I might be mistaken. Sex Pistols versus Green Day doesn't count because the medical instrument there was to show us
chocolatta cutting himself
.

Superfly, Strength, Wheel of Fortune and arguably Thoth can be seen normally because are made from real stuff (the pylon, the small boat and the old car).

When the user has an automated stand or a colony stand, it seems that the effect on the user only works when they're attacked directly, or in case of colony stands it could also be possible that you have to damage all of them to damage the user.

Missed opportunity to call it "rotation." "Ripple" and "rotation" like Gyro does.
Or also "spin." the steel balls are only a tool to use that technique. Gyros shown it with hardening his skin, and even outright says it early on that you can apply rotation to anything, when teaching Johnny with the spinning corkscrew.

But I'm going off for no reason haha. I don't mind, just over explaining.

This was such a a nostalgic chapter. I loved seeing all our old crew from all the years. So many good references. And they were all drawn updated more similar to Araki's current style, or at least more detailed and slim. A lot more detailed. Thin lines everywhere, too. Was so great. I wish he included references to Battle Tendency though!

But seems he hasn't forgot much at all! Lol surprising... Makes me wish he'd write a side story with our old universe.

Interesting that he included the Stone Mask when talking about tools that enable stands.
Also shows the Devils Palm but weirdly Johnny lost his stand when he lost his corpse part, although everyone else gained a stand who survived it, so why didn't Gyro?

I'd love to see Ripple (Hamon) + Rotation (Spin) combined. That'd be wild. Then they'd prob unlock a stand according to Araki haha.

He finally, concretely laid out his stand rules and it made sense! (Like other power systems e.g. HxH's Nen system)

Obviously as we all have seen, though lol this has been broken in the past. So it's not 100% but generally, yeah.

Interestingly though, he did so much explaining about "Stands" physical manifestation's but SBR almost nobody has or uses their stand manifestation to fight. We've seen Johnny's once, Ringo's didn't fight, etc. they mostly just use their power.
Whereas Jotaro uses his stand to fight (and that's the rules they explain), Johnny just shoots his nail guns.
Jolyne was a combo and had her string but could also have her stand fight.

Also funny Araki chose Polneroff / Silver Chariot as the example of 'a stand being harmed harms the user' since SC specifically has an armor meant to protect against that lol

Overall a very great extra chapter based on all the nostalgic art and seeing everyone over this long adventure.
