I guess this is a rite of passage, so i'll leave a comment too
This is my third time rereading (the majority of it, anyways), the first time being in 2014 and second time last year or so
Steel Ball Run is one hell of a part. I could on but i'm sure people before me have properly praised it in full detail.
I'm glad that Araki delivered this to us, and i'm grateful that so many of us are blessed with the opportunity to experience it. God speed.

Suppose that you were sitting down at this table. The napkins are in front of you, which napkin would you take? The one on your ‘left’? Or the one on your ‘right’? The one on your left side? Or the one on your right side?

Usually you would take the one on your left side. That is ‘correct’ too. But in a larger sense on society, that is wrong. Perhaps I could even substitute ‘society’ with the ‘Universe’. The correct answer is that ‘It is determined by the one who takes his or her own napkin first.’ …Yes?

If the first one takes the napkin to their right, then there’s no choice but for others to also take the ‘right’ napkin. The same goes for the left. Everyone else will take the napkin to their left, because they have no other option. This is ‘society’…

Who are the ones that determine the price of land first? There must have been someone who determined the value of money, first. The size of the rails on a train track? The magnitude of electricity? Laws and Regulations? Who was the first to determine these things? Did we all do it, because this is a Republic? Or was it Arbitrary? NO! The one who took the napkin first determined all of these things!

The rules of this world are determined by that same principle of ‘right or left?’! In a Society like this table, a state of equilibrium, once one makes the first move, everyone must follow! In every era, this World has been operating by this napkin principle. And the one who ‘takes the napkin first’ must be someone who is respected by all.

It’s not that anyone can fulfill this role… Those that are despotic or unworthy will be scorned. And those are the ‘losers’. In the case of this table, the ‘eldest’ or the ‘Master of the party’ will take the napkin first… Because everyone ‘respects’ those individuals.

I’d have to say that SBR is by far the best part when it comes to plot, characters, writing, battles, and the art. It’s not my favorite but it feels like peak jojo. It took me a month to read it, and right now I feel kinda empty but I’m really excited to start JoJolion!

my ranking:
1. Diamond is Unbreakable
2. Steel Ball Run
3. Stone Ocean
4. Battle Tendency
5. Phantom Blood
6. Vento Aureo
7. Stardust Crusaders

yeah😹😹‼️

This is the best part of jojo. Definitely. I can't say that it's one of the top 5 manga of all time since i've only read like, less than 10 manga series. But damn, in terms of characters, storytelling, and art this is one hell of a good one. I thought to my self when i looked at the artstyle for the later parts, this doesn't look like japanese "anime" to me wth are these, that was when i was still watching SC. But after watching part 4 and later on, the art style actually grew on me and now i love it. Araki made it look like that he painted a masterpiece on every pages in this one. Concept is really bizarre as you expect from jojo. We got a crippled man fighting the president of the us for the corpse of jesus just so he can walk again while being in a horse race and surviving. We can get no more bizarre than that.

Really can't wait for the anime adaptation on this one so we can finally get a nice grasp on D4C, hell even i would like to see the horse racing in actual animation. Hoping that it would be just as good or even better than SnK's horse animation. Hype train choo choo

My jojo parts ranking as of now (still haven't read jojolion):
1. SBR
2. DiU
3. SO
4. Golden wind
5. Battle tendency
6. Stardust crusaders
7. Phantom blood
