character interactions were really cool this chapter. especially whatever was going on between jodio and dragona. we’ve been seeing consistently that jodio is fixated on ascending the socioeconomic ladder, especially in this chapter where he’s like “let’s get all of the money we can from the enemy” instead of “let’s help usagi” (same mission, different reasons).
i thought that was going to be what pissed dragona off. but what actually makes dragona angry is what jodio says BEFORE that—that he’ll just go with whatever dragona is doing. it’s not entirely clear to me why dragona was so annoyed at that specific sentiment, but i think it’s for a couple reasons.
for one, it is an extension of jodio’s outward apathy, since he’s basically saying “i’ll do this because dragona’s also doing it” instead of the reason the others have, which is to help usagi. secondly, it’s showing a continued reliance on dragona for guidance, which could be annoying to dragona, or make her feel like she has more pressure on herself from jodio than she should.
i think dragona’s less pissed after jodio talks about his plan to take all the money he can, not because she necessarily agrees with the sentiment, but because he’s actually showing the agency he was entirely lacking two seconds before.
again, just incredible dynamic building between the central group in this chapter. the fry scene was hilarious. 10/10
