This is a faithful adaptation, and that fact gave me a deeper appreciation of the original poetic prose of the novel. I never actually realized how cringy the description of events in the novel would look like as manhua panels instead of writing. It's like... the prose makes it a great read and enjoyable in an intellectual way BECAUSE of the way the sentences are constructed. When you convert the description into actual drawings, suddenly you realize that it's a very silly thing that's being described...

In manhua form, this ends up being ZAP! Superman beams! Startled gods! And yes it's faithful to a fault but I dunno... I guess it just doesn't work that well?
