From a fan's POV, is it worth reading it anyway?
I'm not a fan but my experience is that only the anime is worth it. First time I read JJK when it came out I didn't have the same experience other people had of it being some new gen shonen that was revolutionary. I thought it was pretty mediocre and was completely surprised by how the anime blew up.

Tried the anime for the first time last year and it was like a solid 7 but the manga is like a 5 to me at best. Art is meh, plotlines go no where, characters don't really get treated with respect, last few chapters could've been in a databook instead. The manga rides on hype and shock value and it singlehandedly made me increase the rating I gave Demon Slayer for being too vanilla. Maybe vanilla isn't so bad when we get dog water like this

I tried to watch the Demon Slayer anime and got very bored by episode 12 of first season I had to drop it. And for what I have been told the anime carries it hard, so my opinion on my limited exposure to it is very negative. I find hilarious this ending is so nothing that Demon Slayer has a much better one, it's so funny.
The anime does carry the manga HARD for such a massive audience, but the story is never bad.

Kimetsu no Yaiba is, commented by Kinoko Nasu (Nasuverse author), never meant to have a complicated story. It is simply about people trying to stay alive from the demons, and demons who tried their best to overcome their own death. It is all about personal survival, even for Muzan. But Gotoge went hard in that route, that everyone deserves a second chance if possible, that not everyone were born evil.

Not Douma tho.

I will never get why people loved shitbuya arc. The story fell off, around Mahoraga. Had to be some delulu feedback loop among fans. I was vindicated when the arc in anime attracted the same reviews. If anything the anime carried shitbuya arc, the manga was cringe and tropey

I have never seen a single chapter, or animated episode of Kaisen, simply cause of how obnoxious it's young fan base is.

Now that it's over, all I see is fans mad that the ending was bad.

The femboy simping for the main villain gets to marry him in the after life

And that's about the most positive thing i can say about this

So you know, you should read something else

For me Demon Slayer has always been solid, it kept things simple for the most part and has some really fun fights/moments. And for me at least the ending wrapped everything fairly well. Excited for the last arc, the fights were great and are about to be godly animated.

I think what kills some of these recent manga endings is that the authors will add these subplots, questions, ect... only to get overwhelmed, forget, or underdeliver.

The thing is I know my young self would love Demon Slayer, even to this day my favorite manga is Dragon Ball, so I know it would be in my alley. And TBH the moments I saw of fights in the anime are super hype and I would love to like it, but that's the thing with myself and shonen, I read everything back in the day and it just doesn't work for me anymore. I tried it and it looked the most formulaic shit ever.

I don't know, maybe some day I'll try again. But I have to muster all the strength I need because shonen has become the bane of my existence and nowadays my favorites are usually josei mangas, my brainwaves are in the opposite direction of what is needed to like shonen jump mangas right now xD

meh ending on meh series. was interesting on it's art and action scene, but then it get overly convoluted for it's own good, resulted in never ending narration because they have to explain it somehow. 6/10, fine time wasting, not much invested on it.

People just like to whine when something they got emotionally invested in doesn't go the way they want. Overall, JJK is solid, and occasionally quite beautiful.
