gonna hurt seeing the love and patience Cross invested in this project get thrown in the dirt, presumably with Dura's death to really rub it in. Looking forward to Yuka and Tsurugi picking up the pieces of that tho

I may be wrong, because the distance makes the detail difficult to discern... but if I were to hazard a guess, the fact that Dabura does have both the traits... Deskuntans do not have three eyes, so his having both horns and three eyes, would make him a half-blood.
But considering how Cross implies that Dabura is everything they need to win a war, and Usami's reaction when he met him does reinforce that... however that works, Dabura may be some sort of mutation caused not just by the mixing of both ethnicities, but a "magical" mutation... similarly to what Sukuna is thought to be.
Complicated stuff, Cross's heart clearly is very wounded from the conflict between Deskuntans and Lemurians.
Maru did mention the Kaliyan, considering his race has "sorcery", the fact that Deskuntans, and maybe other groups, wanted them dead, shows that those things are dangerous, but it's interesting that their "tribe" didn't suffer from them.
Very good chapter, we needed some background on how things went with the Simurians.
There is a curious thing I noticed... despite having advanced space travel technology, the simurians have a "rustic" way of life, if the implied idea that sorcery is more commonplace between them is true, their dependence on certain types of technology may not have been needed during the development phases of their society.
I mean, if one of them, however more extraordinary as he may have seemed comparatively, was capable of advancing ALONE the construction of a canal like that, the need for the development of heavy machinery may simply not have come, makes sense in a way.
But space travel would be a much more complex need to fulfill, now I am even more curious how much their tech implements sorcery into it.
If there are really 50.000 refugees in that ship, there is a chance they use some sort of barrier to distort the internal space to enlarge it, just like Tengen did with the tomb of the stars.
