So I'm assuming the ghost on the cover is her once all her protective wards break down and she's consumed by the curses?

That story seemed a bit...abrupt. A lot of emphasis was put on the subtle tragedy of the dude forgetting stuff, and then...a monster straight out of Attack on Titan smashed them? Sure, his dementia meant he was too slow to escape, but the Colossal Titan came out of nowhere.

At least the moral of the story at the end fit - when you notice something wrong, it's too late. Seeing signs of dementia means the brain is already fried. They were too late to notice the Colossal Titan. Priestess is too late to notice the curses are seeping in...

She is probably the spirit that was supposed to be exorcise long ago talked about in page 10. But it wasn't capable to do that and the rope is what seal her in instead.

I actually wonder if she keep on taking curse object to purify them in an attempt to get out of the seal from the inside.

yep, the sign was there. she said "in exchange, this rope..." to the other priest, and sighed disappointedly when he died before she finished her sentence.

The giant creature featured in this chapter may be inspired by or adapted from real Japanese legends of the Daidarabotchi or Oonyuudou, both of which are said to be ginormous to the point that can be mistook for mountains when moitionless.
