That story seemed a bit...abrupt. A lot of emphasis was put on the subtle tragedy of the dude forgetting stuff, and then...a monster straight out of Attack on Titan smashed them? Sure, his dementia meant he was too slow to escape, but the Colossal Titan came out of nowhere.

At least the moral of the story at the end fit - when you notice something wrong, it's too late. Seeing signs of dementia means the brain is already fried. They were too late to notice the Colossal Titan. Priestess is too late to notice the curses are seeping in...

She is probably the spirit that was supposed to be exorcise long ago talked about in page 10. But it wasn't capable to do that and the rope is what seal her in instead.

I actually wonder if she keep on taking curse object to purify them in an attempt to get out of the seal from the inside.

Be funny if she's the deadliest curse they sealed and her reading the cursed book only wrecked the temple..she gets away.

yep, the sign was there. she said "in exchange, this rope..." to the other priest, and sighed disappointedly when he died before she finished her sentence.

The giant creature featured in this chapter may be inspired by or adapted from real Japanese legends of the Daidarabotchi or Oonyuudou, both of which are said to be ginormous to the point that can be mistook for mountains when moitionless.

Could turn out to be a "blessing" in disguise.

If the situation is something like:
  • She's bound so that she can't destroy any of the wards on her own and has to purify anything you give her
  • She can only get out if all the wards are gone/she can only get out if the sacred ropes are gone and those would be the last wards to go
  • She tries to convince you to let her out
  • Most of the stuff people give her is fake/not very powerful
Then you might only send someone in to maintain the wards every once in a while. Also the priest + the people who died at his temple might be the ones who do that.

Point is if no one knows she just got an extremely cursed item. And no one is coming to check on the wards for a while/at all.

Then shit is gonna get real interesting.

That's probably the case. The fact that she's the 'most cursed' is 100% the reason the priest just collapsed and died after he handed her the book.
