I started reading this novel but stopped at some point when the translator abandoned it.
That was about 3 years ago. I don't remember it that well, but I was pretty hyped-up for it, so it must have been good.
While I'm thrilled to see this again in manga form, chapter 1 failed to arouse the same excitement within me that I had for the novel so I'll be making the initial assumption that it is not as good.

This will probably sound like an old record, but:
If you liked this - go read the novel. If you thought this was meh - go read the novel: it's better.
I think I'll go back and read the novel again. The new translator has made more progress.

I'll be reading this manga too, but the art just feel a bit generic and unrefined. I feel like the story will get let down by the presentation.
