You're the one acting like there's something wrong with a guy being hesitant to be intimate with his wife when her lack of response over the course of years leads him to think he's the issue. If she had explained her reasons or he asked if something was bothering her the issue might have been resolved sooner but they didn't and so the years have made him abandon it altogether because if your partner doesn't want it, you don't force it.
