I don't want to see him miraculously got feeling not a empty shell whatever. Just waiting for the ending. I don't want to see his good dead or background story whatsoever. I don't understand why manga like this can run so long but some good manga get axe. Is the mangaka got good connection with higher up.

MC kills the rest of Psycho's posse (and a detective, but that's pretty much irrelevant), Psycho kills MC's brother and grandpa (and the raped girl which is somewhat important later). It's decent to that point, then there's a 5 yr or something timeskip after which MC just becomes pretty much braindead. Psycho gets a new posse and a cult and MC's like: 'let's got to the cult island, full of armed cultists, while unarmed myself, pretending to be a cult initiative, like they don't know my face'. That goes terribly, but somehow the MC decides this kind of bullheaded approach is the best going forward. And it's not even the stupidest thing he's done, BY FAR. The arc before this 'love matching' gorefest was literally MC in a bullshit fully immersive VR experience to see the bullshit shoed-in backstory between him and the psycho. He had psycho at gunpoint but was like: 'nah man, I'm really really curious, let me just sit in this VR pod that could just explode for all I know and look at a movie'
There was an arc in between where the brother of the aforementioned rape victim makes an army of his sister's lookalikes (some for fucking, wouldn't expect anything less) with the help of the cult who killed her. It's all bullshit.

And no, I'm not putting this in spoiler tags, cause it doesn't deserve it.
