Japan's future is looking bright. I think I saw Abe-san smiling with a little teardrop on his eye.
I might phase it wrong. He didn't say it's a big portion of each generation that join workforce without degree, but it is not that rare that one should be surprising to hear. Remember I said retiring? It might come from the past and probably unfit to the present.really?, although I don't want to bring up stereotypes, Asians tend to describe their parents as strict and put a very high pressure on school, career and family. Very true...I might phase it wrong. He didn't say it's a big portion of each generation that join workforce without degree, but it is not that rare that one should be surprising to hear. Remember I said retiring? It might come from the past and probably unfit to the present.
But I think it's worth considering that Japan have quite unique working culture there. His generation might have that famous lifelong employment guarantee. Many of work that don't require degree there might have semi-apprentice system. I did heard that Japan have quite narrow wage gap between manual and management, but can't find source to confirm. What I can find is that theirs Gini coefficient is fairly low, mean leass income inequality.
To summarize, I just want to say that we don't quite know enough about their culture to judge the mother's opinion.
